About Uphold
We built the thing we couldn’t find.
[[ Paragraph one — the person and the job. Who it was, what they did for a living, and when the hip started making itself known. Keep it plain. "She'd been cutting hair for eleven years" does more than any amount of adjectives. ]]
[[ Paragraph two — the specific failure. The brace that rolled down by mid-morning. The advice that assumed a chair. The thing that made it obvious nobody had designed for a body that's upright and working. ]]
That's the whole reason Uphold exists. Not to fix anybody, and not to replace the physio — just to get one person through one shift without it being the thing they think about all afternoon.
So we went looking for a support that could survive a working day rather than an hour on the sofa. That meant two straps instead of one, because a single band around the thigh has nothing holding it up. It meant neoprene rather than thin elastic knit, because knit stretches out by lunchtime. It meant one piece that wraps either side, so nobody orders the wrong leg. And it meant flat enough to vanish under scrubs, work trousers or an apron — because most people would rather nobody at work knew.
What we actually believe
Three things, and they decide everything else.
Things we’re not going to tell you
Most of this category oversells. Here's where we stop.
- It won’t heal anything. This is a supportive garment, not a treatment. It doesn't correct, cure or reverse anything, and it isn't a reason to skip seeing someone about your hip.
- It isn’t for sleeping. Compression shouldn't be worn unsupervised overnight. Plenty of brands will sell you a night-time story. We won't.
- It won’t suit everybody. Under thin, pale, close-fitting clothing you'll see an outline. If your waist or thigh falls outside our range, it won't fit, and we'd rather you didn't order.
- We’re new. We're not going to invent reviews or borrow someone else's numbers to look established. What's on the site is what's real, and it'll grow as customers tell us how it went.
Who this is for
Nurses and care staff. Stylists and groomers. Servers, kitchen crews, retail, warehouse, trades. Anyone whose hip is a two at home and a seven by the end of the day — and who doesn't get the option of sitting down to sort it out.
Built for hour eight, not hour one.
Wear it for a full shift. If it doesn't hold, send it back inside thirty days.
